His research interests include electrochemical sensors and biosensors, analytical chemiluminescence, automated methods of analysis and instrumentation, as well as separation techniques. He has published more than 110 articles in refereed journals and has co-authored several book chapters.

She is a senior researcher of the Associated Laboratory REQUIMTE/LAQV, heading the Natural Products group. She has more than 25 years of research experience in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Current research interests are metabolomics (primary and secondary metabolites) and bioactivities (anti-inflammatory and neuroprotection) of natural matrices, including both terrestrial and marine organisms. She authored more than 300 publications in indexed international journals.

Olivier received his Ph.D. in life Sciences at the University of Angers France. He previously gained experience in the analytical field at GSK Stevenage where he implemented analytical methods for the quantification of peptide in biological fluids and at Nestlé Lausanne (CH) where he developed methods for vitamins and natural ingredients analysis in food stuffs. Then he joined Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases (Singapore) as the bioanalytical laboratory head. Then as Senior Investigator in DMPK he develops methods for the analysis of large and small molecules in biological matrixes. Olivier published several analytical papers in the field of analytical chemistry.

The design of photostabilizing pharmaceutical systems is applied on antihypertensives of the 1,4-dihydropyridinic series and on anti-inflammatory drugs as diclofenac, to improve the stability of liquid and semisolid formulations, respectively.
